A Testament to Quality and Reliability

We are proud to share a compelling testimonial from Mr. Gert Koehler, the former Fleet Manager at Jacob The Shipping Group, who has retired after a distinguished career. His insights highlight the critical role ISTECH played in ensuring the quality and corrision resistances of stainless steel. 

Testimonial- April 2017:
"We herewith confirm that ISTECH conducted the acid pickling and passivation of stainless-steel heating coils, remote valve control hydraulic lines, and all associated equipment in the cargo oil tanks on three of our vessels. In one instance, a vessel returned only weeks after delivery due to pitting corrosion that caused hydraulic system failures and leaks in the heating coils. The GL Material Laboratory in Hamburg confirmed compliance with material standards, identifying inadequate production methods as the source of the issue. To minimize vessel downtime, we opted to replace the entire hydraulic piping, retaining only the non-leaking sections of the heating coils. Following these repairs, ISTECH acid pickled and passivated the entire stainless-steel installation to our full satisfaction. Since 2011, we have observed no further corrosion or pitting. Subsequently, two sister vessels underwent the same treatment by ISTECH, including one that was fully blasted and re-coated. To this day, the stainless-steel installations on all three ships have remained failure-free."
