Stainless steel, while corrosion-resistant, is not immune. Aggressive cargoes or poor cleaning can damage the passive chromium-oxide layer, leading to pitting, crevice corrosion or stress corrosion cracking. That’s why we perform Ferroxyl and Blue Point tests to assess passivity, followed by re-passivation when necessary. We also measure surface roughness to avoid residue retention and enable faster, more efficient cleaning cycles in the future.

During inspections, we evaluate more than chemical cleanliness. We check for mechanical damage such as weld cracks, scratches, and structural issues in tank ladders or support frames. These faults - if undetected - can compromise cleaning efficiency and long-term tank performance.
